Tau Battlesuit : This was a way for me learning how to paint light colours. In all honesty its basically i copy of one of the old slayer sword winners in Australia although no way near as good :p

Big Blue: I have a soft spot for this particular ork, its the second or third i've painted now lol and i'll probably paint another sometime in the future! The colour combination is "brave" lol but down the road i learn more about colour,,,a lot more. The battlesuit was better colourwise but at the time i didnt decide any of that,,,

This was my first real use of an Airbrush and limited pallette. not much else to say other than it was meant to be gaming standard.

At this point i knew i was going to France to meet painters like JBT, JMPN, JAG, Thomas D + Alfonso Giraldes: i had to prove i could paint to a decent level and this is what happened. It was my first attempt at understanding colour theory and was one of the first minis i did just for fun!

This was and is the culmination of everything ive learnt in regards to colour theory, sculpting/converting and lighting. Its the model im most proud of and in some ways the most dramatic lol..

Aha, so that's where monkeyman has been hiding! Good to see you on here, and also good to see another Ork on a massive plinth as befits his status :D

Good stuff mate. The trip to France has made such a massive difference to the way that you approach and paint your models now.

    thankks guys :)

so, i promised something new; enjoy the ghost of christmas future! its for a little comp in my local store, thought id use it as an excuse to get back into painting. So far ive just been having a little play with my airbrush and after i post this i'll get the dust off the brushes to see what i can do :p

i just wanted to use the airbrush to get a general idea for the lighting and colour placement. Im planning to keep the mini quite simple in terms of colour choice, bu possibly go for an interior glow and some nmm, not sure if i can squeeze some freehand on but we'll see.

looking good so far, i think u might have been able to go a bit brighter around the hood with the airbrush but uv sorted that anyways, i think u can up the highlights a bit more, touches of pure white here and their, how u looking at painting the bone and the stone?

to be honest im not sure whether to go monochrome or not guys. i think it would fit the mini quite well but originally i was going to paint it up in a blue/orange scheme. Keep the bone a neutral colour with a touch of orange, the flagstones were going to be a bit more saturated with 1 or two in red tones the wood part of the scythe in deep orangey browns and then the blade,,,,,i have no idea about the blade lol. There is also this piece of material around his neck (similar to what a priest wears) so im not sure what colours to do that in.

    so,,, monochrome or not?
