    Ta guys!

It was a bit of a cheat using the ball instead of a model, but most of the Blacksmiths models I have are covered in so much metal I’d have been working on it for years :D

Might have one or two more models to paint, but I’ve almost finished prepping the new brokentoad/Steamforged bust (of a girl and her otter) so that’a tempting me... maybe I should try I finish up the FeR Last immortal bust too!

Man... this was not a productive holiday! But I've finished up another model, and done the face on his puppet:

More productive than mine so far - he looks good, and the doll should be fun

    Cheers darling :D

I’m thinking I need to darken and redden the eye edges on the puppet’s eyes, make them look a bit more like human eyes behind a wooden plate...

More toys than productive output but we live in hope. Not. Like the blue and tan.

I’m determined to get my buying under control...
Granted, I’ve been trying that for three years but 2018 I (once again) think I can finally manage it!

Finished Brainpan and Memory at last! Along with a bunch of other bases for the rest of the guild (I want to actually have a fully painted guild this year, so I can enjoy the sight of them all lined up for photos...

But with them done, I can go onto a more display level project - the Angel and Salt bust from Brokentoad (and SFG again). I'd like to really push myself with the busts I'm working on, I have plenty of models to do if I need a quicker project to boost my enthusiasm :)

New pictures! Ok, I've not done much. And you can see the issue I had with my airbrush and the white. But still, I've done something!

I tried to do a dark blue iris with a brighter blue inner and flecks of turquoise in it, though I don't know if it's achieved anything :)

As a quick update, someone asked me if I’d thought about having her looking at Salt. To which I responded “damnit, I knew I had a plan!”

So I’ve stripped the paint on the eyes, and repainted the primer. The eyes are a bit darker than the original priming, so that needs a quick tweak further, but I’ll get that done this week and redo the eyes to be looking down and right, at the wriggling otter.

    Round and round we go...

In the meantime, while I summon the will to redo those eyes, I've been prepping more morticians. Problem is, I can't prime them if I don't have a couple of free pin vices to hold them, and too many of mine have stuff in already. Rather than take half finished stuff out and put it in a box, I thought I'd try and get one finished - the Last Immortal bust that I've worked on occasionally. It now just needs tattoos (and the underside painting, and a proper support pole instead of 0.8mm brass wire, and a little plinth, but those aren't important right now):

    Tattoos!

The back was a bit of a disaster, but that's the second version I did so I'm kind of resigned to it. Disappointed in it, but I don't want to do it yet again... so I'll claim it as an old crude tattoo that's fading ;)

Ok, I couldn't let it go - I had to rework that tattoo! I also used my 3d printer (and some milliput and sandpaper) to make a little plinth, complete with slot for a nut underneath for when I finally get myself sorted out for transporting these things...

Pics are a little dark, but he looks good! Do you have a front-on shot?

Huh, they are a bit darker than usual... must’ve got the exposure adjustments wrong!

Square to his shoulders, you mean? I can probably take one, I went with square to the plinth originally :)

So we can see his eyes - it looks from the middle pic like you've angled him to look forward, so the slightly top-down shot on the left looks like it's missing something.

    Just for my darling Fet...

I also started another random gaming piece, because I fancied a lazy project again.

(She is a drug addict, so the dark rings round her eyes were deliberate, not a cock up :p )

I realised after I posted this (because someone pointed it out to me) that she isn't the addict... so I tweaked her face and quickly did the rest of her, to test out the colour scheme:

Metals didn't come out great, but I'm not sure I can be bothered to deal with them at the moment :p

Been painting another mortician. He was not fun. Just big blocks of not much interesting to do, and small patches of detail that fought me every step of the way...

Still, that means I have all these done:

Not sure what to do next, either more morticians or the angel bust I started and restarted probably

Turned out to be more morticians, although I regretted it by the end... boring model!
